The typical DLV dagger was actually called a flyers knife and was also adopted in 1934 and stayed in production through the NSFK take over in 1937. They were made of high quality nickel alloy. The NSFK kept the same design and later changed over to an aluminum version.

Product Description: This is an absolutely beautiful and choice example of the DLV Dagger, in excellent condition, made by Gebrüder Heller. The blade on this one retains most of the original cross-graining, which is tough to find on daggers of this type.

DLVNSFK #49691 Early DLV Dagger by David Malsch. This glider pilot's dagger has a really great look, at least until you draw it out of the scabbard. The blade is poor. The hilt mounts are all nickel and are highly toned, looking to have never been cleared.

Offered here is a very fine example of a WW2 German DLV glider pilots dagger. The DLV were a military organization that was disguised as a civilian flying organization. After the treaty of Versailles in 1919, the German military was forbidden to train pilots or have an Air Force.

Scabbard throat is stamped with the DLV winged propeller. The integral brown leather hanger complete with silver planchet with unmarked clip grades EX+ showing surface wear, but no rips or tears to leather and age patina to silver fittings and clip.

The DLV dagger was much heavier and larger at 55 cm long. The DLV 1934 55-cm dagger was the longest standard dagger of the Third Reich. Carl Eickhorn , Paul Weyersburg & Adolph Braun and E.F. Hoster , manufactured these daggers.

Dagger Information – DLV 1934 Dagger (Fliegermesser - Flyers knife) The Fliegermesser was introduced at the same time as the DLV Fliegerdolch, for non-officer ranks. It was much smaller than the Fliers dagger being only 34 cm in length.
