The Duluth, Missabe and Iron Range Railway (DM&IR) (reporting mark DMIR), informally known as the Missabe Road, [1] was a railroad operating in northern Minnesota and Wisconsin that used to haul iron ore and later taconite to the Great Lakes ports of Duluth and Two Harbors, Minnesota.

Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1913, the 400-402 for the DM&N and the 1107-1110 for the D&IR, these locomotives were placed in charge of the "Arrowhead" passenger trains out of Duluth until 1953 on the DM&IR.

Here I caught UP Train MNLTT 31 coming across the Highway ZZ Crossing. This was my first look at one, I was quite impressed. It sure is a shame that CN bought the Missabe.
