The DMC World DJ Championships is an annual DJ competition founded by the Disco Mix Club (DMC) which began in 1985. [1] It has been described as a "pre-eminent competitive DJ event".

The DMC World DJ Championships is a DJ competition hosted by Disco Mix Club (DMC), which has been held annually since 1985 excluding 1993. The event has become renowned as the ultimate DJ battle, and many world-renowned turntablists have entered the event.

DMC launched the DMC WORLD DJ CHAMPIONSHIPS in 1985 when a young Londoner called Roger Johnson took the first title in London’s fantastic Hippodrome where DMC staged a DJ Convention. It took America’s DJ Cheese in 1986 to bring the best out of the turntables by scratching his way to DMC’s first ever World Title.

In 2002, DJ Kentaro did a mind-boggling set and became a global superstar. In 2012 and 2016, DJ Izoh and DJ Yuta won. In 2017, 12-year-old DJ Rena became the youngest person ever to win.

Three categories are the same, DMC Classic, DMC Supremacy, and DMC Scratch, but the interesting twist on all of this is that there is a new category called DMC Open. For nearly a decade, the Red Bull 3style contest was held around the globe.
