2023年8月27日 · I lapped the external wall membrane back into the reveals and placed DPC on the bottom then the window was mounted, foamed to fill gaps and then silicone to seal around it inside and out. I used Siga Wigluv tape to seal the window to the timber kit.

A pentice board is a slanted timber above a window that serves to allow this. DPC tucked under the breathable membrane rests on the board so any water inside the wall structure can also exit it.

2018年12月30日 · Hi, I'm requiring advice/suggestions regarding protecting my timber soleplate from condensation/moisture between it and the DPC. I've read various threads how moisture can remain through lack of ventilation, and difference in temperature of timber and blockwork beneath, but not found a relevant solution yet, if necessary at all.

A damp proof membrane (DPM) is wider than DPC. It’s a polythene sheet that’s made to cover wider surface areas than walls. It’s laid under concrete slabs and blocks and can be used in building construction as well as other garden and landscaping projects.
