I got a '91 DR-350S which has spark and can idle at 2k when the choke is out. As soon as choke goes back in, or throttle is opened even the slightest, the engine cuts out. It has a Mikuni carb. A history on the bike, it sat around for a year or two and collected the yellow varnish on the carburettor parts. Cleaning of the carb was then done.

Background: the PO left the bike sitting for several years, but the inside of the carb looked relatively clean (no tarnish in the float bowl).

2009年3月20日 · Bought a DR350se (96 model) and have been unsuccessful in tracking down a problem. The bike starts and runs smooth with the choke on. If I take the choke off after warming up, the bike idles somewhat rough, and will not rev above idle.. it coughs and sputters and stalls.

2020年4月4日 · running with choke would indicate a lean issue. you need more fuel, and adjusting your needle height could be a possible solution. this can be done without removing the carb as well, loosen the clamps and twist the carb to access the top end

2010年12月14日 · Check the obvious stuff, e.g. fluids are good, no leaks around the engine or forks, no frame damage etc. The DRs are solid bikes, so if it sounds bad or doesn't run well, something is wrong. If the owner says "it's an older bike, so it will have issues", don't buy it. I have a '90 DR350S and it's very solid.
