I am in active duty now, and I was in the reserve from 1995-2001 (but not good years; 50 points minimum per any of those years)... At present time, I have 17 years and 8 months active duty, and I also have a DA Form 5016 indicating that I accumulated 187 points (since the reserve component retirement system is based on points and good years)...

Even bad news is still the truth. My situation is I have several years of points only drilling. I am retired and trying to get the pension paperwork straight. My points years do not appear on the DA 5016. The Ltc who can confirm the duty is still on active duty.
