Rosewood - Wikipedia
Dalbergia sissoo is a rosewood species from India and Bangladesh, usually known as sheesham or North-Indian rosewood. Its timber is extremely dense and has mild rot resistance but is porous, and its exterior is soft and susceptible to wood-boring insects. It is used for making cabinets and flooring, and for carving.
Reference transcriptomes and comparative analyses of six species …
2020年10月20日 · Dalbergia is a pantropical genus with more than 250 species, many of which are highly threatened due to overexploitation for their rosewood timber, along with general deforestation.
Dalbergia in danger: How a checklist sets out to save a genus
2022年10月25日 · An increasing unsustainable demand for Dalbergia species threatens the genus, but the upcoming release of a new checklist holds promise to combat this threat.
Characterization of the complete chloroplast genome sequence …
2019年12月31日 · In this study, we sequenced and compared the chloroplast genomes of nine species of Dalbergia. We found that these chloroplast genomes were conserved with respect to genome size, structure, and...
First molecular phylogeny of the pantropical genus Dalbergia ...
2013年11月1日 · In total, 64 species of Dalbergia (represented by 66 accessions) were included: 31 species from Asia, 21 species from Africa including Madagascar, and 12 species from America (Table 1). Leaf material for DNA extraction was obtained from recent field surveys in South East Asia by Tetsukazu Yahara and his colleagues, and from E, L, MO and WAG ...
Geographical and ecological distribution analysis of Dalbergia ...
2024年11月15日 · The species of the genus Dalbergia L.f., also known as rosewoods, are widely distributed globally, with approximately 250, and centers of diversity in Central and South America, Africa, Madagascar, and Asia (Klitgaard and Lavin 2005).
Many Dalbergia species have small and fragmented populations. Extensive and unsustainable harvest along with rampant illegal trade is leading to dramatic population declines and, in some cases, local commercial extinction. Listing Dalbergia species in Appendix II is necessary to curb illegal international trade
Validation of ITS barcode for the identification of CITES Malagasy ...
2024年6月1日 · In this research study, a total of 136 nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (nrITS) DNA sequences representing 41 species of Malagasy Dalbergia were used to assess the effectiveness of the ITS barcode in species identification. Each sequence was evaluated by genetic distance and tree-based methods.
