They were conceived by writer Terry Nation and first appeared in the 1963 Doctor Who serial The Daleks, in casings designed by Raymond Cusick.

2020年5月8日 · I heard somewhere that the Daleks were robots created by Davros, but then I read that they were cyborgs. Which one of these is true? Neither. They are mutants that live inside metal vehicles. I feel this question needs a definition of a "cyborg" with which to work with, but Daleks are definately not robots.

2015年1月16日 · Though their dependence on the armour's systems does make them cyborgs to an extent, Imperial Daleks were surgically attached in a more cyborg-like manner, and that's part of the cause of the Dalek Civil War. Robot implies 100% mechanical. The Dalek itself is the squid inside it. You could call it a cyborg, I guess, but not a robot.
