Dandong (simplified Chinese: 丹东; traditional Chinese: 丹東; pinyin: Dāndōng; lit. "Red East"), formerly known as Andong, is a coastal prefecture-level city in southeastern Liaoning province, in the northeastern region of the People's Republic of China.

Dandong (丹东; Dāndōng; formerly known as Andong (安东)), is a city in Liaoning Province, China, right next to the North Korean border. Visitors usually come to Dandong for its close vicinity to the North Korean border.

Dandong is the railway crossing point at the border between China and North Korea for the Beijing-P’yŏngyang international rail line. A new seaport has been constructed at Donggang (formerly Donggou) that has greatly facilitated domestic and international trade in the area.
