Sara Duterte served as mayor of Davao City twice — during the first half of presidency of Benigno Aquino III and during the entire presidency of her father. She became the city's first female mayor, and the youngest to ever be elected in its history.

Sebastian Zimmerman Duterte (/ d ə ˈ t ɜːr t eɪ /, [dʊˈtɛɾtɛ]; born November 3, 1987) is a Filipino politician who is serving as Mayor of Davao City since June 30, 2022. He previously served as the city's vice mayor from 2019 to 2022.

The Mayor and Vice Mayor are elected citywide under a first-past-the-post system. City Councilors are elected by district, with each of Davao's three districts electing eight councilors. Two ex-officio members (representing the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation and the Association of Barangay Captains) complete the 26-member City Council.
