David Alan Grier. Actor: Joe Pickett. David Alan Grier was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Aretas Ruth (Dudley), a schoolteacher, and William Henry Grier, a psychiatrist and writer. He trained in Shakespeare at Yale University, where he received an MFA from the Yale School of Drama.

Dr. David Greer is Professor and Chair of the Department of Neurology at Boston University School of Medicine and the Richard B. Slifka Chief of Neurology at Boston Medical Center. He has been a neurointensivist since 2001, having trained at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he began his career.

Dr. Greer is the editor-in-chief of both Neurocritical Care Live and Seminars in Neurology. He serves as a reviewer for several journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, Annals of Internal Medicine, Brain, Neurology, and Stroke.
