JS Kirisame (DD-104) is the fourth ship of Murasame -class destroyers of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). She was commissioned on 18 March 1999. [1] The hull design was completely renovated from first-generation destroyers.

USS Champlin (DD-104) was a Wickes -class destroyer built for the United States Navy during World War I. The Wickes class was an improved and faster version of the preceding Caldwell -class. Two different designs were prepared to the same specification that mainly differed in the turbines and boilers used.

1996年4月3日 · JS Kirisame (DD-104): Kirisame was laid down on April 3, 1996 at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Nagasaki as the 1994 plan and launched on August 21, 1997. Commissioned on March 18, 1999, was incorporated into the 6th Escort Corps of the 2nd Escort Corps and deployed to Sasebo.

きりさめ（ローマ字：JS Kirisame, DD-104）は、海上自衛隊の護衛艦。むらさめ型護衛艦の4番艦。艦名は「霧雨」に由来する。なお、艦艇名としては旧海軍通して初の命名である。

该舰是战后日本自研的首型火炮驱逐舰，于1956年4月26日入役，同级舰艇还有“雪风”号（dd-102），这两艘军舰一直服役到20世纪80年代。 1955年，“ 绫波”级反潜护卫舰 进入日本军舰制造序列，该型舰总共建造了7艘。

USS Champlin (Destroyer # 104/DD-104) underway, circa the early 1920s. The ship's after 4"/50 gun has been remounted atop her after deckhouse. Circa 1935-1936, at least 26 destroyers berthed in Tin Can Row at San Diego. Most inboard is the USS Champlin (DD-104).

Currently, ships of this class have been switching the point defense missile system from the traditional Sea Sparrow (RIM-7M) to the Evolved Sea Sparrow by FY2012. Aircraft facility is expanded to accommodate two shipboard helicopters. One Mitsubishi SH-60J/K is a basic load, and another can be accommodated in case of overseas operation.
