While pressing D, switch the ignition on, wait until the yellow ‘engine' symbol goes out on the dash, then release D Press in fast sequence: DDNDN On the dash, the letters D and S should appear together Restart engine, allow it to idle. After a few seconds, the letters D and S should go out. Job done!

Jun 28, 2017 · The downside to all this is that you can get into initialisation mode regardless (up to and including the DDNDN sequence), at which point it will just sit there flashing the bar that will not disappear. The oil will then heat up past the range the box likes and you will have time to have a cuppa or two while it cools down naturally.

Apr 24, 2019 · That is not the procedure on the Africa Twin. The engine light goes out just as quickly as it normally would in a normal ignition start up, even if you have your finger on the D-key. But carry on anyway. After you do the DDNDN at the right pace, things start happening. I don't know why Honda don't alter the instructions.

Dec 25, 2017 · The slightest throttle movement caused a disproportionate leap ahead and I could not stop the bike from creeping forward while stopped in traffic. After doing the reset all those unpleasant things stopped. I do have a couple of notes though. After the MIL light goes off---go IMMEDIATELY to the DDNDN sequence.

Jun 28, 2017 · Has anybody been stuck in initialization mode? I let it cool quite a bit and tried to preform the reset to get out of it with no luck. It let me ride with it stuck but the shifting was still really jumpy. I can't change to drive or sport it just shows them both on the screen highlighted.
