2014年12月28日 · You use legs more which gives your upperbody a little break. Srt can be more gear intensive. Consistent friction at your hitch/multiscender and redirects really make srt shine. Certain jobs i still like ddrt (small trees / wicked leaners). There is a learning curve for sure and it can feel ackward at first if you are used to 2:1 of ddrt. Good luck!

2015年9月16日 · srt does tend to require additional equipment not needed for ddrt (simple ascenders), or more expensive equipment ("hybrid" devices that can be used for srt and ddrt), or more coordination and skill (like foot-locking with a simple friction hitch).

2013年12月20日 · Vortex here for SRT using the hitch hiker, has a great feel, knots great, feels solid while climbing. I might climb once or twice a week, I've never used it for DdRT, haven't found the need . Any sort of mechanical advantage I need during a climb I would use 3:1. Vortex is a bit heavy being a full 12.7mm.

2022年8月7日 · The Pro isn't much bigger than the original if any. It is beefier. It works great for Ddrt. If I were to do an entire climb Ddrt I probably go back to the Hitch Climber setup though. It stays oriented better if you're walking around with slack in your system. I've been wanting to try the ZigZag srt. It looks to be pretty good.
