2012年9月15日 · 'De yo' is impossible because you cannot follow a preposition with a subject pronoun. Expressions like 'de ella' are sometimes needed for clarity because ' su perro ' or ' el perro suyo ' could equally well mean his/her/your (de usted/de ustedes) dog.

As they told you, "yo" is just a personal pronoun, while "mi" marks possession. "Mí" works like "me" in English. As you know, "me" also exists in Spanish. Both of these act as complements and not as subjects. For example Yo quiero esto > yo is the grammatical subject Me gusta esto > me is the grammatical indirect object ¿A quién le gusta esto?

You may use "casa de mi" when referring to the house of one of your friends, family members... Esta es la casa de mi abuela. "Casa de yo" is not correct.
