2024年1月23日 · Did flight into MMH earlier using the TBM (think this models de-icing best) and had windshield and leading edge icing. Both abated after turning on respective switches. It always seems to build on the side windows first, and then splotches on the boots with some remaining behind the boots. Hit the boots 3x and each time it removed the splotches.

2021年3月12日 · To my knowledge, most of the piston aircraft bundled with my mid-tier MFS do not have de-icing equipment, the smallest birds I can think of so equipped are the DA62 and Grand Caravan (I presume the TBM is equipped too). AFAIK IRL the DA62 is not certified for flight into known icing, it's more of a safety net.

2015年2月1日 · Under our current procedures the flaps can be anywhere for de-icing. Often they will have been left at 15 by the previous crew if they encountered icing on the approach. Once de-icing is complete the flaps are brought up for the anti-icing step. Takeoff flap setting is then delayed as long as possible prior to takeoff.
