University Hall, formerly Deady Hall, is a historic building located in Eugene, Oregon, United States. It was built from 1873 to 1876 [2] by W. H. Abrams [3] to a design by architect William W. Piper. [2] It was the University of Oregon 's first building, and remained the university's only building for almost ten years after its construction.

University Hall is a National Historic Landmark and was listed on the National Register under criteria A and C in 1972 (under the name Deady Hall). It is ranked as a primary campus resource for its high signifi cance and good level of integrity.

The "Old Building" was informally named Deady Hall for Matthew Deady (1824-93), judge of the Territorial Supreme Court from 1853 to 1859. He also presided over the State Constitutional Convention in 1857.
