Dr. Jenny Margarita Gough (Contreras), BA, MA, and Ed.D, is a Deaf Person of Color (DPOC) from El Salvador with Maya, Chippewa, Lenca, Mangue, and Pipil heritage. Dr Gough is department chair and professor of American Sign Language at Berkeley City College and Vice-President of the Conference for Interpreter Trainers.

Sealey's work in theatre and the creative arts focusses on empowering deaf and disabled actors through inclusive productions. [3] She was appointed as a vice-president of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 2022. [4] In August 2023 Sealey's Edinburgh Festival Fringe play Self-Raising received a Neurodiverse Review Award. [5]

Jenny, a passionate advocate for the Deaf community, has dedicated her life to advancing these goals. As a child, Jenny experienced firsthand the challenges of inadequate access to education and communication.

Deaf since the age of 7, Jenny Sealey has been the Artistic Director of Graeae since 1997. Since then, she has pioneered a new theatrical language and aesthetics of artistic access experimenting with bilingual British Sign Language (BSL) and English, pre-recorded BSL, creative captioning, and in ear/live audio description methods.

Jenny is a deaf private pilot and served as President of Deaf Pilot's Association from 2018-2022. She continues to serve as an advisor on the board. Since 2015, she has been the coordinator for Young Eagles, a volunteer organization that provides free flights for children.

She is an American Sign Language teacher at Metro Deaf School where she teaches Deaf high school students. She is also a co-founder of "Did You Know That?!" channel across social media where she partners to create educational and engaging videos in ASL.
