The VT180 is a personal computer produced by Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) of Maynard, Massachusetts, USA. [1] [2] Introduced in early 1982, the CP/M-based VT180 was DEC's entry-level microcomputer. "VT180" is the unofficial name for the combination of the VT100 computer terminal and VT18X option. [2]

DEC produced the VT-180 (codenamed Robin) as an upgrade to a standard VT-100 terminal. An add-in board supplied a processor, RAM and IO including a disk interface. An external disk cabinet (or two) were added for storage.

The VT180 disk format is 40 track, single sided, 9 sectors/trk, 512 bytes/sector, 250 kbps MFM. This gives a disk capacity of 180KB. These images can be converted back to IMD format with ImageDisk’s BIN2IMD utility.

The Robin was an oversized VT-100 with the motherboard mounted inside the CRT case. The keyboard and floppy drives were separate. Mine was a "super PC" because it had four floppies. The OS was CP/M. They were manufactured abt 1982. Though available only to DEC employees, I got one through a contractor who was working with me.
