Bara Pani is the largest of the rivers that traverse Deosai National Park. Deosai National Park is located in Western Himalayas in Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan. It has an average elevation of 4,114 metres (13,497 ft) above sea level, making the Deosai Plains the second highest plateau in the world after Changtang Tibetan Plateau .

Deosai Plains is a 70 x 30 km plain between Astore and Skardu. It is one of the highest large plains in the world at a height of 13700 feet above sea level. The most interesting feature is the flowing water through the plain.

Large expanses of alpine meadow alternate with drier stony areas, and there are patches of dwarf willows along the rivers and streams with many species of Poa, Saxifraga and Euphorbia. The plateau is highly significant in terms of watershed value.

Deosai is famous for its amazing lush green scenery, Sheosar lake, and many wildlife species. In summer its pleasant climate makes it an ideal place to camp. Deosai has a chilly climate during summer, making it the best spot to escape the warm temperature in Pakistan.
