I was told that a solution is to file the pin down, and if you need a spare pin for the FA depriming hand tool, a Lee universal decapping pin can be used as a direct replacement. Apparently, FA has had or is in discussion about making a pin with a smaller diameter, but I wasn't told if there will be anything offered.

2016年1月21日 · i use the lee hand press (#90685)- pretty cheap (got mine new for $34 + $6 shipping)--seen them as low as $28 on sale-- and can be used in several ways -- depriming, priming, seating bullet, possibly sizing even (can get a little tough when case size gets bigger due to leverage issues) --keeps the dirt/gunk from depriming out of your good press too

2024年7月26日 · Agreed the FA depriming tool is legit. My only gripe is that I broke one of the plastic inserts for magnum sized cases and couldn't find a replacement. I just bought a new complete unit and keep two of them set up for different sized cases. Well worth the money for a nice piece of kit.

2018年5月30日 · Looking for a better option for hand depriming. I looked at the frankford arsenal tool and it seems a lot of people don’t like it because the cases get stuck on the pin. I am tired of using my press due to trying to chase primers falling.

2023年1月31日 · It's hard to imagine that there is a practical difference between the various mfg.'s for a tool like this since its operation is so straight forward, all you're doing is punching out a spent primer. So, I don't believe a tool like this can be characterized as "the best."

2012年9月27日 · I use a Wilson depriming tool. The Wilson looks like a punch with a longer end that knocks the primer out with a light tap of a mallet. It's about 20 bucks. I sit on the sofa with a block of wood, the depriming tool and a little mallet and wack away.
