The RNA and polypeptide composition of chick syncytial virus (CSV) and duck infectious anemia virus (DIAV) was investigated and compared to that of reticuloendotheliosis virus (REV) strain T, the prototype of the newly recognized REV group of viruses.

Among REV isolates that had not previously been sequenced, we were only able to obtain one (duck infectious anemia virus (DIAV)), for which all samples had not been exhausted or destroyed. We sequenced the complete DIAV genome and constructed ML phylogenies using all available REV sequence data.
