2011年5月1日 · When I added an SSD to my MacPro I renamed my original drive to Old Mac HD, installed my SSD, booted to the original drive, and then used the Disk Utility "Restore" function to copy everything from the old drive to the SSD. It was like making an image of the old drive on the new one and hardly took any time at all to copy all the data over.

2017年10月8日 · It's not a bug. Disk Utility still offers this option but only if you choose 'Wipe' on physical device rather than volume (which makes perfect sense). In 10.13 Apple has simplified Disk Utility's view so it only shows volumes (omitting physical devices). Go to 'View' and enable advanced view (I don't remember exact wording).

I always have 24 or 25 local TM snapshots even though I also have TM connected and running. So it is not the situation that they are deleted next time TM drive is connected and run.
