The Digital Journalism program at San Diego City College offers practical, hands-on training for writers, reporters, producers and editors seeking jobs in the vibrant and constantly changing news media industry.

Students in the Digital Journalism program learn how to think critically, work collaboratively, and write, interview and report ethically and effectively. They also learn how to integrate new and emerging multimedia tools and technologies into their storytelling, producing multi-platform content worthy of a portfolio.

DJRN 210-213 is a newspaper, editorial magazine and online news website production lab required for all students working in any capacity on official student City College print and online publications. This includes writers, photographers, videographers, graphic artists, multimedia producers, editors and production staff.

2023年12月12日 · Plans to merge the RTVF and Digital Journalism (DJRN) programs were set in motion after the San Diego Community College District approved the merger last November. According to Kuckenbaker, the new Film, Journalism and Media Production (FJMP) program will be offered to students starting Fall 2024, providing the same courses under new names.
