Workforce Development Division | Internship Programs
The Hawaiʻi State Department of Labor & Industrial Relations (DLIR) Workforce Development Division (WDD) has two paid internship programs available to the community. Hele Imua is a 12-week internship opportunity for the State of Hawaiʻi.
When employers notify DLIR of major layoffs as re-quired by law, WDD can assemble assistance teams from State, County, and non-profit agencies to help with job counseling, unemployment benefits registra-tion, labor market information, referral to training, and workforce services.

The Workforce Development Division (WDD) plans, directs, coordinates, and implements a customer-driven statewide workforce development system that delivers employment and training services to job applicants, workers, and industries throughout the State.
Nine WDD One-Stop Centers are open Monday to Friday on all major islands. Job Seekers can obtain a variety of job and training information and services by visiting One-Stop Centers.
