Regarding guns, perhaps enchanted ones are rare because each individual piece has to be enchanted to include the ammunition where more crude weapons like the sword do not. It's not that much like Eberron, from what I know of that setting.

2017年11月20日 · 5e's firearms rules in the DMG are awful - guns are fundamentally just crossbows (and D&D has never handled those well either). LoTFP's firearms rules are better, if somewhat clunky - but the rest of LotFP would make a solid basis for an 18th century game - as would almost any other retro-clone.
