The NWB in Braunschweig is a closed-circuit low speed wind tunnel of the atmospheric type, located on the premises of the DLR. From 2009 to 2010, the NWB underwent substantial refurbishment to become an aeroacoustic wind tunnel of excellent acoustic properties, while at the same time its well-known high aerodynamic qualities were preserved.

DNW’s six wind tunnels include high and low speed, supersonic and transonic facilities, and provide experimental aerodynamic simulation capabilities to the user community at large.
