Supersonic blow-down tunnel - DNW
The SST is a blow down tunnel fed by an air storage vessel containing 600 m3 of dry air at a maximum pressure of about 4,000 kPa. The diffusor section, holding the model support, can be moved back creating excellent accessibility of the model.

DNW, the German-Dutch Wind Tunnels, is one of Europe’s most advanced and specialized organizations for wind tunnel testing. DNW’s eleven wind tunnels include subsonic, transonic and supersonic facilities, and provide experimental aerodynamic simulation capabilities to the user community at large.
DNW » Supersonic blow-down wind tunnel SST operated …
The blow-down tunnel SST operates in the Mach number range between 1.3 and 4. It has a rectangular test section of 1.2 meters width and a height depending on the Mach number up to 1.2 meters as well. The Reynolds number can be varied in …
DNW-SST (Supersonic Wind Tunnel) - EREA
The SST is a blow down tunnel fed by an air storage vessel containing dry air at a pressure of 580 psi (40 bar). Typical tests: – Configuration studies, database creation (civil and military transport aircraft, fighters, spacecraft, missiles).
Wind tunnels - NLR - Royal Netherlands Aerospace Centre
DNW offers wind tunnel testing techniques for the aerodynamic, aero-acoustic and aero-elastic simulation of aircraft models in a controlled environment with excellent air flow characteristics. The experimental capabilities of the facilities capture the essence of the issues to be investigated in the take-off/landing and cruise regimes.
The test was performed in the supersonic facility SST of DNW at Amsterdam. The SST is a blow-down wind tunnel fed by air from an air storage vessel, containing 600 m 3 of dry air at a maximum...
DNW - German-Dutch Wind Tunnels on LinkedIn: Dust shot in the SST …
After 5 years the Super Sonic Tunnel, DNW-SST, had its first successful “Dust shot” and is back in operation! In the movie below, you can see the Schlieren… | 15 comments on LinkedIn
DNW’s 11 wind tunnels include subsonic, transonic and supersonic facilities, and provide experimental aerody-namic simulation capabilities to a global user community at large. DNW provides techniques for aerodynamic, aeroa-coustic or aeroelastic simulations and tests of scaled models in a controlled environment.
SACCON Static Wind Tunnel Tests at DNW-NWB and 14'x22' …
Static and dynamic low-speed wind tunnel tests have been performed on a generic transport aircraft configuration using two interchangeable wings of significant different stiffness in the DNW-NWB.
Wind Tunnels - DNW
DNW’s six wind tunnels include high and low speed, supersonic and transonic facilities, and provide experimental aerodynamic simulation capabilities to the user community at large.
