The Dodge LCF (for "Low Cab Forward") was a series of medium- and heavy-duty trucks built by Dodge from 1960 until 1976. They replaced the Dodge COE range of cabover trucks built in the 1950s. The 500 through 700 series were medium duty only, while 800 through 1000 series were reserved for heavy-duty versions.

The Dodge D800 conventional cab had box-section strengtheners, heavy-duty door hinges, thick rubber cab mounts to lower vibration, and a durable coil spring seat. GVWs on this Dodge went from 20,000 to 29,000 lbs. with GCWs up to 55,000 lbs.

1973 Dodge C800 with 413 Gas motor, was purchased at local Dodge dealership in PA, shipped to FMC/Bean Corp to have the Fire Body installed. In 1987 it had several upgrades done by 4Guys Inc. Stayed in front line service until, I purchased it in 2006. I drove it 9 hours home from PA, to the mountains of North Carolina.

This truck is powered by a Caterpillar 1150 series 570 cubic inch V8 diesel which was a special order option from Dodge starting with 1973. It has a five speed manual transmission going to a two speed Eaton rear axle.
