Dogs were divided into two groups according to the analgesic technique used during surgery: dogs that received a peripheral nerve block (group PNB) and dogs in which opioid analgesia alone was used (group C). Results: The PNB and C …

Objective: To compare the perioperative effects and pharmacoeconomics of peripheral nerve blocks (PNBs) versus fentanyl target-controlled infusion (fTCI) in dogs undergoing tibial plateau levelling osteotomy (TPLO). Study design: Randomized clinical study. Animals: A total of 39 dogs undergoing unilateral TPLO.

2020年1月1日 · In this study, we compared the effects of peripheral nerve blocks (PNBs) and systemic analgesia [fentanyl target-controlled infusion (fTCI)] in dogs undergoing tibial plateau levelling osteotomy (TPLO). Our primary hypothesis was that PNBs should reduce the nociceptive response to surgery and, therefore, the intraoperative fentanyl consumption.

Peripheral nerve block (PNB) is the administration of a local anesthetic drug in proximity of a peripheral nerve to inhibit the conduction of the impulse through it. If an adequate amount of a local anesthetic drug is injected in the proximity of a sensory nerve desensitization of the area served by the relevant nerve will occur.

2024年1月30日 · More dogs that received the PNB shifted to normal pruritus (digital PVAS10-N: <2) by week 4, compared to week 7 for the PBO. While a placebo effect was identified, clinical differences were supported by changes in the GM. The PNB enriched three probiotic bacteria and reduced abundances of species associated with negative effects.
