Weapons are nicely curated and ammo is just abundant enough to force you to really consider how you play. I have been playing using Brutal Doom which is making the experience significantly harder (while providing a handful of advantages to the player e.g. the railgun) but I'll be doing another playthrough with vanilla Doom soon enough.
