Insights Into Spinal Dorsal Horn Circuit Function and Dysfunction …
The dorsal horn functions as an intermediary processing center for this information, comprising a complex network of excitatory and inhibitory interneurons as well as projection neurons that transmit the processed somatosensory information from the spinal cord to the brain.
Neuronal atlas of the dorsal horn defines its architecture and links ...
2018年4月23日 · The dorsal horn of the spinal cord is critical to processing distinct modalities of noxious and innocuous sensation, but little is known of the neuronal subtypes involved, hampering efforts to ...
Neuronal circuitry for pain processing in the dorsal horn
2010年11月11日 · In this Review, I describe the basic neuronal components of the dorsal horn and what we know about the circuits in which they are involved, with particular emphasis on pathways that process...
Spinal Cord Dorsal Horn - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics
The spinal cord dorsal horn (SDH) is the location of the secondary neurons that receive nociceptive stimuli from peripheral sensory neurons and transmit them to the brain along
Dorsal horn of the spinal cord - definition - @neurochallenged
Dorsal horn of the spinal cord - aka posterior horn; one of the divisions of the grey matter of the spinal cord, the dorsal horn contains interneurons that make connections within the spinal cord as well as neurons that enter ascending sensory pathways.
Dorsal horn | anatomy | Britannica
…the spinal cord: (1) the dorsal horns, composed of sensory neurons, (2) the lateral horns, well defined in thoracic segments and composed of visceral neurons, and (3) the ventral horns, composed of motor neurons. The white matter forming the ascending and descending spinal tracts is grouped in three paired funiculi,… Read More
The Cellular and Synaptic Architecture of the Mechanosensory Dorsal Horn
The deep dorsal horn is a poorly characterized spinal cord region implicated in processing low-threshold mechanoreceptor (LTMR) information. We report an array of mouse genetic tools for defining neuronal components and functions of the dorsal horn LTMR-recipient zone (LTMR-RZ), a role for LTMR-RZ processing in tactile perception, and the basic ...
Dorsal Horn - (Anatomy and Physiology I) - Vocab, Definition
The dorsal horn is a region within the gray matter of the spinal cord that serves as the primary site for the initial processing and integration of sensory information received from the body. It plays a crucial role in the central nervous system's ability to perceive and respond to various sensations, including pain, temperature, and touch.

Dorsal Horn Circuits for Persistent Mechanical Pain - Cell Press
Here we report the functional identification of key components of the elusive dorsal horn circuit for mechanical allodynia. We show that the transient expression of VGLUT3 by a discrete population of neurons in the deep dorsal horn is required for mechanical pain and that activation of the cells in the adult conveys mechanical hypersensitivity.
