Suzuki DR200: The Bristlecone Pine Of Motorcycles
The 1980s were a time of big change in the Japanese dual sport lineups; through the 1970s, they’d sold a lot of two-stroke enduros with light kits. But Honda had shown the way forward with the sturdy XL series, and through the ’80s, the other OEMs moved towards their own four-stroke street-and-trail models. For Suzuki, that was the DR lineup.
Consider The Suzuki DR200 - Adventure Rider
As our budgets tighten, the humblest DR may prove a surprisingly capable bike if you do your part. For the off-road enthusiast… Admittedly, the basically-unchanged-since-1987 DR200 has humble specs (20 hp at 8500 rpm, 13.3 lb-ft of torque at 7000 rpm, 276 lb wet weight).
small way round: Adventures on a Suzuki DR200 | Adventure Rider
2010年5月13日 · With the stock 3.5 gallon tank, I can usually get over 200 miles. Weighing in at just over 200 lbs, my best fuel economy is about 70 mpg. A much lighter rider would probably get closer to the advertised 100 mpg. I have done a few trips on the bike, but am starting out by introducing the modifications I did to it first.
XT 250 or DR200 - Adventure Rider
2006年4月24日 · OK this is crazy but went to dealer to check out a DR 650.Right next to it was an XT 250 which felt almost perfect, riding position, seat comfort etc.Now I have decided on a smaller bike so now my question is how does the XT 250 and DR 200 compare.I know the DR has a larger fuel tank, a big plus but how about power to weight ratio comfort ease of ...
the DR200 thread - Adventure Rider
2007年5月14日 · With most of my dirt experience being from messing around with DR650SE, KLR650 A and C and Baghiras I was amazed how sure footed and easy the little DR is. It climbs up the steepest slopes as if they aren't there. Deep sandpits that require concentration and a bit of bravery when negotiated on a 650 are a laugh on the little 200.

Thoughts on the Suzuki DR200 as a Dual Sport? - Adventure Rider
2008年1月24日 · A DR 200 is a really small bike. Unless you are really light, you would be much better off looking for a DR 250 or 350. I've got a DR250. It will cruise comfortably at 60-65. I'm not sure how it would do at higher elevations. I also have a Yamaha XT350. It's lighter, more comfortable, and has more torque.
lowered XT225 or DR200 - Adventure Rider
2005年7月18日 · My objection to the DR-200 was that it was heavy for what it was - a weak 200 with a lousy suspension that is nearly the same weight as a DRZ-400E. Wife now has a dualsported TT-R125L!!! (Another choice would be a GasGas Pampera, a relatively small 2-stroke factory dualsport.)

2009年5月20日 · I had this same issue with my 93 dr 250. i just went and bought a new petcock and gasket. The gasket is cheap $7 and a rebuild kit is cheap too around $25 but the petcock from the dealer for that bike is like $50 or something like that.
Will a DR200 fit a big guy? - Adventure Rider
2008年1月28日 · I don't have a DR 200 but I will tell you the KLX 250 is GVWR rated for a hell of a lot of weight. 345 pounds allowable rider and gear. That's got to be best in class. 627 GVWR minus 262 pounds dry bike weight minus another 20 pounds for vital moto-fluids equals 345. The seat height will not be good for someone with a 32 inseam however.
