2022年10月3日 · I have a drobo 5D3 and an older 5D. Yesterday my 5D3 stopped working at some point. No power lights at all. The brick on the cord has a green light until I plug it into the Drobo and the light slowly fades out. no lights what so ever come on the drobo. I have take the cord from my 5D with is the same volts and amps and it does not work either.

2017年9月13日 · The total cost to me, assuming I return the 5C for a full refund, will be the cost of the Synology ($600) and the 2 new 10TB drives ($350 or so each, I'm trying to think of them as aggressive updates to my storage), vs. the cost of a new Drobo 5D3 ($700) and going through the stress of worrying about losing it all again in the future.

2022年10月3日 · After a power supply failing and my Drobo 5d3 not turning on, I brought a replacement power supply. This seemed to fix the issue for about a week. This morning, my Drobo was on but not mounting. When I went to reboot, I found that I am only getting the fan running and the Drobo will not power on.

2020年10月13日 · I built a new partition on the drive and can see it fine via Thunderbolt 3 on the Mac and Via UCB-C on Windows 10. I do have all of the correct drivers and services for Thunderbolt 3 etc working on Windows. However Drobo Dashboard can not see it via thunderbolt 3 on Windows 10. The Drobo instead appears as an unsupported SCSI device.

2023年5月21日 · My Drobo 5D3 died recently. No lights in front, just constant fan blowing. I pulled out the HDs after labeling order, and attached all 5 to an old MacBook Pro with Intel processor using SATA to USB-C adapters. I attached the mSATA Drobo Accelerator using mSATA to USB 3.0. These adapters were plugged into USB-C hubs.

2020年6月10日 · The promise of "BeyondRAID" is that you can use different sized volumes. But in practice, it's a proprietary format that is likely to make you rue purchasing a Drobo. In this comment I link to just a few other horror stories from Drobo owners in this subreddit. You would do well to listen to their tales with caution.

2024年2月5日 · My Drobo 5D3 unmounted itself a coupe of days ago, and all lights came on continuously, and the fan is running full power. I've removed all disks, unplugged the power for 24 hours, tried turning on and off multiple times, and it stays the same.

2021年1月24日 · The drives were fine, but I think the Drobo had a power supply issue, it would die and reboot each time right at the moment when the disks almost reached the maximum spinning speed to operate. Beyondraid is a proprietary system, and only a handful external products support mounting the array.

2021年8月12日 · The Drobo on/off switch had no effect. Shutdown and restarted the computer and the Drobo power light didn't come back on. Unplugged the power cord from Drobo and the blinking green power-supply brick flared a bright solid green, then dimmed out. A burning smell was then noticeable from the power-supply brick.
