2006年8月11日 · Not expecting much, but maybe I will get lucky. Its a second generation drobo with firewire and USB. It's used, but seller says it works. Got it, plugged it in, ALL the lights turn on. The drive lights are all red, doesn't change. The blue lights are all lit up in blue, doesn't change. The power light is red, no changing. Things I have tried:

2008年1月23日 · Drobo rebuilt and everything seemed fine, but a couple of days later, the drive in bay 2 turned red again, indicating an issue with one of the new Seagate HDs. A bad run of luck, but HDs fail, so I switched it out with Seagate and they provided a replacement HDD.

2007年3月20日 · 4 slot Drobo's can only handle one drive failure at a time. As to srl7741's other question, once you put a drive in Drobo, it becomes part of Drobo's BeyondRAID format. Meaning you cannot pop it out and read it anywhere else, except in another Drobo.

2005年3月17日 · The speed of a single 3.5" is pretty fast and you don't have to rely on rebuilding procedure if one drive fails (simply take any drive from a RAID1 to read existing data once the array is broken). I also like the idea of keeping all my drives in HFS+, native Time Machine support (via server.app on my MBA) and overall flexibility.

2002年6月18日 · When you first set up your Drobo, if you initialized it as only a 3.16TB drive, any additional space will have to be used on another partition. If you had used the Drobo software to initialize it to be 16TB, when you upgrade to larger drives, they will automatically be added to the array. More info can be found here:

2010年4月15日 · I have Drobo Dashboard 3.6.1, and my Drobo 5D is on 4.2.3 firmware. The Drobo is my backup storage array. My primary one should have no problem upgrading (an OWC Thunderbay). Is there anything special I need to do regarding the Drobo or Drobo dashboard to upgrade from Monterey to Sequoia? Any specific process steps, permissions, etc? Cheers.

2010年10月23日 · one partition for a superduper clone and another for time machine. That's for my mbpro. Im going to copy my media 2tb drive that's only half full into the other 1tb drive. When i get another 2tb internal ill put 2 tb drive into drobo copy both 2 1tb drives into a 2tb internal drive and put all 3 of them into drobo to get continous backups.

2008年8月15日 · There is a good third option: Buy an empty external drive enclosure. Remove the hard drive from the PC and put it inside the enclosure. Then plug the enclosure into the Mac. Next drage the files to the Drobo. Un-plug the external drive and store it away some place. It will serve as a backup. You will need to figure out some way to backup the Drobo.
