Druid Hills is a community which includes both a census-designated place (CDP) in unincorporated DeKalb County, Georgia, United States, as well as a neighborhood of the city of Atlanta.

The Druid Hills Civic Association was founded in 1938 to preserve the Druid Hills neighborhood for residential use and to protect the unique heritage of the area. While we have served the neighborhood in many capacities over the years, we now consider ourselves an advocacy group that connects our community.

The 1,300-acre Druid Hills Historic District was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. This 4.2 square-mile neighborhood, conceived by Joel Hurt and named for a park in Baltimore, Maryland, began as a picturesque residential community.

In 1894, working at the height of his powers, Frederick Law Olmsted, the greatest landscape architect in American history, crafted from the rolling contours of a forest on Atlanta's east side a new neighborhood of oak canopied streets and public parks and promenades that would become renowned for its natural beauty and historic significance.
