2023年4月3日 · Trying to get into DSBM and want to listen to all of the "essentials" of the genre. I constantly see Silencer and Shining being brought up as important to the genre but fuck them. Just wanted a list of important DSBM albums that aren't made by shitty people without having to do a million google searches.

“True dsbm” is a meaningless term. Leviathan, xasthur, nyktalgia, abyssic hate were all super popular bands when the dsbm label emerged and were all called that at the time. They all sound very different music wise.

2021年1月18日 · There are two main kinds of DSBM, in my opnion: the atmospheric black metal vibe and the sick maniac suicidal vibe. Abyssic Hate is more like the first, so other people here gave already excellent suggestions, but if you want to explore the second kind: Shining, Lifelover, Psychonaut 4, Odraza, Møl and Bethlehem are my favorites.

Probably a bit overkill, but who cares. I made an essential top 40 DSBM album chart. There are some artists/bands that appear more than once, mainly because I couldn't only include one album from them. Feel free to add more, but I think I've covered a good amount of pretty decent albums.

2016年8月19日 · Those bands are usually atmospheric, blackgaze/shoegaze, or post-black metal. Post-black metal is pretty much DSBM and I'll usually include it with DSBM. A lot of DSBM bands are also atmospheric and blackgaze/shoegaze, which is also why the sub genres crossover.

2020年8月5日 · We have all heard of Coldworld, Trist, Xasthur, None, Happy days, Psychonaut 4, Thy Light, Nyktalgia, etc etc. but which bands do you enjoy that have little to no recognition? for example, i like Chaosophia Claustra, and Glatisant (idk if thats dsbm but its black metal)
