Below is a schematic I've drawn for the new tesla coil dual MOT power supply. Here's the plan. For the power supply, I have 2 similar MOTs in parallel from a 240V 15A 50hz outlet.

2020年8月2日 · My dual-MOT SRSGTC has the two MOTs stacked with one end ground. Wanted one side of the spark gap grounded for easier rotary-gap construction. It did require removing the secondary-to-core connection on the second MOT, and epoxy insulation around inside edges of the secondary winding to prevent arcing to the core.

2024年3月28日 · I made a dual mot with voltage doubler setup for my power supply (Unballasted, I know, it's an issue. but I was just going to run it for a few seconds.) I tested the whole setup the other day and my spark gap was not firing.

2021年12月9日 · Consider a dual-mot topology with voltage doublers. Same voltage with less current, might still be ok on static gaps, and can be expanded later to quad mot if desired.

2013年12月8日 · In response to some interest on the Tesla List, here are some details for the power supply I plan to use. As per the schematic in my last entry, I am intending to run a 3-phase supply with power levels around 6kW. Consequently 3 identical ~2kW transformers are needed.
