2022年4月30日 · recently bought a huge lot of 20+ uniforms of UCP and need to dye it all. i was thinking rit dye. i have a big boiler i can use. just wondering if you guys have any pointers or advice. Dye it sparingly, you can always add more. and if you want blotches, squirt it on then rinse individually after setting.

2016年1月11日 · I own about half a dozen ACU pants, 5 dyed, only two came out the way I wanted after a lot of experimenting with dye mix ratios, concentration, length of immersion, 2nd and 3rd run over-dying etc. Also, there's simply some dye colors which will work and some (most) which won't work on UCP patterned NYCO cloth.

I decided to dye some UCP to potentially make it more effective and less bright. I dyed a mix of Rit Kelly green, Rit Dark Brown, Rit Sandstone, and Rit yellow. Let me know what you guys think about UCP and what you think about my dye job and any tips or suggestions or interesting info

2019年9月25日 · The problem with UCP is that it was designed by people who knew nothing about camouflage theory. Their process was to take a bunch of terrain specific patterns, select the colors from they shared in common with each other, and then apply those colors to the CADPAT pattern screen just like the USMC did.

2014年8月9日 · With near boiling water/dye solution, and a decent dye concentration, I have found that most DCU and UCP items are dyed within minutes, given constant agitation. Agitation is the key. When agitated, the item picks up the dye quickly, when the item and the solution are both hot, and dye transference is optimal.

2014年1月20日 · ACU/UCP is a horrible pattern and I'm glad you took initiative to change it & make it work for you. I've dyed several fabric items in the past and found that it usually has a harder time dying synthetic fabrics like nylon or pvc -- the dye usually takes much easier to cotton or cotton-blend fabrics like the ACUs themselves.
