Youth Served by DYS. DYS serves youth between the ages of 12-21 who have been adjudicated delinquent, adjudicated as a youthful offender, or placed in DYS’ overnight arrest beds and/or detention programs while awaiting a future court date. Within these broad categories, DYS serves:

DYS offers educational, medical, and clinical services for youth. Detained youth placed in secure facilities also receive Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) twice a week. Committed youth receive a comprehensive assessment and an individual treatment plan while in DYS custody.
