Eefer E4 was the mascot of E4 from 2013-18. He is a purple robot shaped like the E4 logo used from 2001-18. According to the official E4 website, Eefer was the official face of E4 in 2001, but was changed following their 2004 rebrand.

An exciting ‘Brand Refresh’ for the British Television channel E4, I was involved in the year-long development of E4 robot ‘Eefer’ from initial character design, through character modelling, character rigging, texturing, lighting and animation. The character was modelled using Cinema 4D, then uv unwrapped and textured in Adobe Photoshop.

On 31 October 2013, The idents are replaced by the new set of idents featuring a robot in form of the 2001 logo, Eefer. Community content is available under CC-BY-SA unless otherwise noted. On 18th January 2001, E4 launched with 3 idents invading the current Channel 4 logo at the time.

E4’s new on-air packaging was designed and developed by ManvsMachine. The channels logo has been embodied by Eefer a purple robot. Eefer communicates with viewers on-screen via a purple placard he carries.

On 31st Ocotber 2013, E4 unviled a new look which included “Eefer”, a robotic embodiment of the channel’s familiar logo, which it hoped would interact with viewers on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, as well as E4’s YouTube and Spotify channels.

After the 2013 rebrand, each ident features a character referred to as Eefer and his dog in various locations and situations. Text and graphic elements in each ident were designed to be replaceable, theoretically allowing the set to be easily updated to remain topical as time goes on.
