The BMW N52 is a naturally aspirated straight-6 petrol engine which was produced from 2004 to 2015. The N52 replaced the BMW M54 and debuted on the E90 3 Series and E63 6 Series. The N52 was the first water-cooled engine to use magnesium/aluminium composite construction in the engine block. [1]

Sep 9, 2023 · Yes the N52 is reliable however there were many shared parts on the e9x platform between the N52/N54/N55. In the real scheme of things the N52 isn’t a boosted motor so mechanically it’s going to hold up better.

Mar 19, 2020 · Bought my e92 328 back in July and since then I've dealt with almost every common n52 problem. Serpentine belt assembly, ofhg, and a valve cover gasket that mysteriously stopped leaking when I changed the ofhg.
