The Panhard EBR (Panhard Engin Blindé de Reconnaissance, French: Armored Reconnaissance Vehicle) is an armoured car designed by Panhard for the French Army and later used across the globe, notably by the French Army during the Algerian War and by the Portuguese Army during the Portuguese Colonial War.

The latter was already in production and probably one the best armoured car fielded by the French army during the war.

The Panhard EBR ETT (For Engin de Transport de Troupe/"troop transport vehicle") was an APC variant developed for platoons accompnying the standard EBR in reconnaissance units.

EBR stands for Engine Blinde de Reconnaissance, which literally translates as Armored Reconnaissance Vehicle. Panhard started work on a new EBR in 1937 in order to produce a vehicle with greater mobility than the 4x4s then in French service, with the first prototype being produced in 1939.
