The fierce characteristics of the falcon may evoke fear into opponents in athletic competition, but the mascot version of the falcon is a lovable and huggable character affectionately named ‘Franklin the Falcon’, named for Franklin County, where East Central College is located.

ECC competes as member of the NJCAA in the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference. Since 2008, ECC's sports teams have been known as the East Central Falcons. [4] "Rebels" was the original mascot of the college, but the name was dropped due to its ties to the Civil War and the Confederacy. [5] The mascot is named "Franklin" the Falcon.

SUNY Erie is a public community college with three campuses in western New York that serve residents in and near Erie County. It is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system and has locations in Williamsville (North Campus), Buffalo (City Campus within Old Post Office), and Orchard Park (South Campus).

2024年4月17日 · The new mascot is a Spartan, a human warrior. “It represents a winning attitude, a spirit of our college and a warrior mentality,’’ said Amybeth Maurer, Assistant Dean of Student Experience and Engagement. ECC officials began conversations about a mascot in early 2023 and surveyed students in the spring of 2023.
