This document provides information about extracting data and generating a CCDA file for a patient from the eClinicalWorks software. What is Data Portability? Data Portability enables users to create a set of export summaries electronically for all patients using EHR technology formatted according to the Consolidated CDA (CCDA) standards.

Clinical Document Architecture (CDA) documents can be exchanged through a series of messages using standard SOAP Web services (IHE profiles) between any eClinicalWorks EMR and an external health information exchange including private, public or regional HIEs.

But there are big questions about how to do what, and while an excellent implementation guide is a must, examples matter too.
