增强型F88（Enhanced F88），简称EF88，是F88的第二次大幅改进，预计要在2013年完成设计和试验，将来可能定型为F88A2（不是F88S-A2）。在外观上，EF88的有很大的改变，比如枪管表面有纵向散热槽，有助于散热也减轻了枪管重量（EF88比F88轻了约0.2公斤）。
