Also, I get warning lights for brake, ABS, check rear lights. My car has done 160,000 trouble free mileage. My local BMW agent said that to exchange this would cost more than the car is worth.

2024年12月12日 · After the engine started, I see in the diagnostics that the blocks (DSC, DME, EGS, SZL, SFZ - all after SGM/SIM on bus) on PT-CAN are falling off. The dashboard does not display the gear, engine tachometer is dead, economizer, etc. It seems that one of the blocks (or sensors) is laying down the data bus.

2021年6月14日 · Read trouble codes from other CAN bus modules (DME, ABS, IKE) for clues on EGS. They will have CAN EGS errors if they cannot communicate with it. Check CAN bus wire pair, at EGS connector, at DME, all points in between. BMW WDS Online; Remove EGS and visually inspect it and its connectors, pins, etc. Open it up and look for circuit damage.

2020年3月8日 · I replaced the shift select module and this issue did not return. After replacing my fluid, filter and a new valve body, I went for a test drive, and had all the gears as normal. Once I started to boot on it I lost the 1-2-3 gears and speed failsafe mode engaged. After this event, I could not get the 1-2-3 gears back even after a cold start.
