The DE30AC & DM30AC are Passenger locomotives designed & built 1997~1998 by ElectroMotive & Siemens, specifically for the Long Island Rail Road. The Diesel-Electric DE30ACs were numbered LIRR#400~423, the Dual-Mode DM30ACs were numbered LIRR#500~522, & were assigned to PushPull trains with 2~7 Kawaski.C3 BiLevel passenger cars.

EMD DE30AC: #400-422 Built: 1998 Serial Numbers: 936423-1 to 936423-23 Originally had recessed roof horns, but were relocated to above the cab early 1999/2000. The LIRR limit for a single DE/DM30 is six C3 cars.
