2004年4月21日 · Re: Cutting EMT with tubing cutter When we run rigid we use a pipe cutter. That is because the pipe cutter is part of the threading machine, along with a reamer. It makes it real easy, clamp, cut, ream, thread, done. I can not imaging using a pipe cutter on EMT, I will cut through it with a hack saw faster.

2022年9月20日 · It is Code legal to run NM cable in any type of conduit. See Chapter 9 Tables. The limit on fill is 53%. Measure the major diameter of elliptical cables as the diameter. This means one 12-2wG in 1/2" EMT, but I would use 3/4 EMT especially if there are bends.

2018年12月4日 · 1. Insert a smaller diameter pipe into the EMT to protect the wiring 2. Cut the EMT by either using a tubing cutter to cut it all the way through, then deburr; OR score the EMT partially through and then snap off (to avoid leaving a sharp ridge). 3. I could not find any PVC junction boxes that had strain reliefs . I eventually found a metal box but I'm still curious if there was a problem mixing metal with PVC.

2011年2月7日 · It actually works really well. I did buy the greenlee tubing cutter that just seemed to kink the pipe and make weird cuts, mostly because I can only get to 2/3 of the pipe, not enough to make full cuts around it. The red tool lets me make full cuts around the pipe in tight spots.
