Canon EOS M is the first mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera produced by Canon. DPReview noted that the EOS M is effectively a miniature version of the Canon EOS 650D, which was introduced in June 2012, with a simpler physical interface. [1] The letter M in EOS M stands for "mobility" and EOS means "electro-optical system".

Offering a large APS-C sized sensor, the camera is able to deliver shallow depth-of-field for achieving impressive cine-style results and the ability to capture clean, high-quality video, even under very low-light conditions.

2012年7月23日 · Based around the same 18MP APS-C sensor as the recent EOS 650D/T4i, the EOS M is the first model to use a new, smaller 'EF-M' lens mount. It is launched alongside two EF-M lenses that use STM stepper motors optimized for use with the camera's hybrid AF system.

The first of two mirrorless camera systems, EOS M cameras are small and compact. Some, but not all, feature a built-in electronic viewfinder. They feature the smaller APS-C sensor and accept EF-M lenses, as well as EF and EF-S lenses via the EF-EOS M adapter.

The Canon EOS-M is an extremely well made and tiny camera with technical image quality identical to Canon's 1.6x DSLRs. In fact, it might be a tad better in actual use because its dedicated EF-M 18-55mm IS STM and EF-M 22mm f/2 STM lenses are better than the similar EF-S lenses offered for DSLRs.
